The Light Rail Myth

2017
in collaboration with:
Vasundhra Aggarwal & Chael MacKinnon

As a final project for the seminar, Why Cities Flourish and Fail, our team designed a website to create a resource which aims to critique transit-oriented development as a city planning technique, primarily through the analysis of the implementation of light rail system. Under the premise of growing and shrinking cities, a focused analysis on Boston, Baltimore and Buffalo has been conducted to reach a conclusion about how public transit affects economic growth. To facilitate this thesis, the website includes data on city population shifts, light-rail ridership and other economic indicators.
